Not Every Tooth is Made the Same

The carbide-tipped tooth available from every power rake manufacturer was designed for mining/construction tools. NOT for this application. That's why they fail under heavy use.

Factory teeth were not designed for this application

The Science Explained

Engineered Angles Of Attack

Since the 1970s, mining/construction  cutter drums have used the same style tooth.  Those drums are a much larger diameter and have angled tooth holders to keep the point of the tooth taking the impact, head-on. They were never designed to take side impact. Since power rakes have a small diameter drum, impacts happen on the side of the cutter tooth, not from a head-on direction. Bottom line, it's not the right tool for the job.

This style tooth was only designed for head-on impact. Plus, mining/construction machines are only designed to cut in one direction, unlike power rakes. That's why the basic design hasn't changed, until now.

Every Power Rake maker welds the same basic conical teeth straight upright—no attack angle, zero protection. Rocks hit sideways, shear the carbide braze joint, tooth fails. ALMOST 100% SIDE IMPACT!

Standard Factory Bit. The basic design is used by every attachment manufacturer on the market.

Carbide on the Soilcon tooth is back up by steel. The factory bit has nothing backing it up.

Impact from the side is the main point of failure.

With nothing supporting the tip, it breaks off. Game over.

Attack angles are built into the Soilcon Tooth. Since the carbide is backed up by steel, it can take much more abuse, resulting in substantial increase of useful life.

Teeth tailored to meet the unique demands of power rakes.

Smart Attack Angles

We built our teeth from the ground up specifically for power rakes, not borrowed from mining tools. That’s why they’re simply the toughest, longest-lasting teeth you can put on your machine.

Reduce Maintenance Cost

Less time spent repairing a common wear part.  Double-sided radial tooth with precise attack angles keeps the carbide joint in compression. Eliminates the shear forces that destroy conical teeth. That’s why they are so tough.

Easily Handles Gravel Roads With Virtually No Wear

Use the attachment for more than just soil.

Reduce Operating Cost

The engineered design delivers far greater efficiency in the field. By optimizing the attack angles, the teeth cut cleaner and more aggressively with every pass. This means you cover more ground in less time, complete jobs faster, and significantly reduce fuel consumption—delivering measurable savings with every hour your power rake is running.

Better Results

Pulverizing action is much better. Plus, no grooves left in the dirt where grass seed tends to builds up.
